I'd like to get an FAQ going on this since it seems to have helped so many of us!

1. What formula did you use? Welcome Womb, B-Fruitful, False Unicorn Root/Black Haw/Squaw Vine/Cramp Bark on their own?

2. How many cycles did you use it before successful pregnancy?

3. Did you experience any losses while using it?

4. When did you start it in your cycle or pregnancy?

5. How long during the pregnancy did you continue to use it?

6. What were your HCG levels like?

7. What was your morning sickness (if any) like?

8. How many babies?

9. Anything else?

I used it successfully! I swear by the stuff.

1. What formula did you use? Welcome Womb, B-Fruitful, False Unicorn Root/Black Haw/Squaw Vine/Cramp Bark on their own?

Welcome Womb

2. How many cycles did you use it before successful pregnancy?

Started my m/c cycle in June (cd1 was the m/c) and used it through my Lp, no pg. Next cycle in July I got pg.

3. Did you experience any losses while using it?

No!

4. When did you start it in your cycle or pregnancy?

1dpo

5. How long during the pregnancy did you continue to use it?

I took it through the 1st trimester everyday. After that I was going to use it when spotting. But I haven't spotted this pg at all.

6. What were your HCG levels like?

10dpo b=32
12dpo b=172
14dpo b=600
17dpo b=2594
19dpo b=5321
27dpo b=35,449;

7. What was your morning sickness (if any) like?

I was diagnosed with HG. But it is my 2nd pg with HG. Every pg seems to get progressively worse for me as far as m/s goes.

8. How many babies?

This is hopefully my 4th baby, my 11th pg and my only Welcome Womb baby.

9. Anything else?

I spotted with EVERY pg, 3 successful and 7 m/c. I had SCH with ALL of my pgs! Except this one! I didn't spot and I didn't have a SCH!!! I truly believe that the Welcome Womb helped me keep this pg and not spot and not develop a SCH.

1. What formula did you use? Welcome Womb, B-Fruitful, False Unicorn Root/Black Haw/Squaw Vine/Cramp Bark on their own?

I used False Unicorn Root/Black Haw/Squaw Vine/Cramp Bark on their own infusion style.

2. How many cycles did you use it before successful pregnancy?

Success came the first cycle I used it.

3. Did you experience any losses while using it?

No.

4. When did you start it in your cycle or pregnancy?

I started 4dpo once I was certain I had ovulated.

5. How long during the pregnancy did you continue to use it?

I used it through 12 weeks.

6. What were your HCG levels like?

very high for me.
16dpo: 624
18dpo: 1,655
25dpo: 17,981
My progesterone was also twice what it normally would be for me though that was still only 10 and then 12.

7. What was your morning sickness (if any) like?

Hyperemesis--the worst I'd ever had it (though I did have a history of it still).

8. How many babies?

Just one, a boy.

9. Anything else?

I am certain this played a big role if not THE only role in maintaining the pregnancy.

here's info on where to find them, if it's info on how they work I can gather that for you too.[f]

Trilight B-Fruitful has most of the herbs (only missing cramp bark):

http://www.shopping.com/xFS?KW=trilight+b+fruitful&CLT=SCH

Carry-on has some of them (not squaw vine or cramp bark):

http://www.shopping.com/xFS?KW=trilight+carry+on&CLT=SCH

Welcome Womb has some of them (also not squaw vine or cramp bark):

http://www.1cascade.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=2860

Here's a cramp bark formula:

http://www.localharvest.org/cramp-bark-tincture-C10906?r=fr

Mountain Rose Herbs, Mountain Spirit Herbal have the bulk ingredients.

False Unicorn Root should be cut/sifted and you'd only need 4oz for the whole first 12 weeks for infusions.

Black Haw should be cut/sifted and 8oz should do.

Cramp Bark should be cut/sifted and 8oz.

Squaw Vine should be cut/sifted and 8oz.

I mix the dry herbs together with something that tastes good (I like rooibos, some like mints, etc) and shake it together well then store in a 2 quart canning jar. The infusion is 1 quart boiling water to 1/4 cup herb mix steeped for 8 hours and that makes 4 cups of infusion. I did that every other day and drank 2 cups a day all through 12 weeks (from 4dpo onward).

The tinctures have other things in them (wild yam at least) and they aren't harmful, are ok to take.

Wow Christine thanks so much for that, that is great!![tu] I was also after some info on how it works if you have any links for that?? It has caught my intrest since Ramsey mentioned she thinks it is the reason she hasn't had a SCH, which is what took my Helena.

I wondered if it would interfere with other meds since I will probably be on blood thinners for my next pregnancy (awaiting test results), and I have heard some herbs can do that??

If it is not too much trouble hun!!

Thanks[f][f]

False Unicorn Root info (studies show may increase HCG)

Black Haw info

Cramp Bark Info

Squaw Vine info (note its use for frequent miscarriage)

There is more info out there and ANY herb can definitely interact with blood sugar and blood clotting issues. Most herbs tend to thin blood and lower sugars, but false unicorn root can raise blood sugars. It's something to be aware of in case adjustments need to be made to other treatments. [f]

Sussi - Christine gave you some great info. I was only on BA as a blood thinner for MTHFR. This is pg #11 for me and for 10 of them I spotted off and on for most of the 1st trimester and with Bella well into the 2nd trimester with some bleeding in the 3rd trimester. I had SCH with all 10 pgs prior to this one. They were monitored by u/s until they disappeared between 10 - 14w (my successful pgs). This is my only pg that has been spot free and SCH free and the only thing I did diff was to add Folgard & Welcome Womb.

I took it prophylactically from confirmed Time until 12w. And then was going to take it in case of spotting/bleeding, but haven't needed it thus far.

I read your story about the birth of your beautiful Helena. [hug][hug] I wish you nothing but [pc] and an uneventful and blessed 9 Months & beyond.

Ladies, you are awsome!!! (I wish I could find one of those little smily dude's bowing in awe[L]) Christine all that info is so useful. I am intrested in whether you used a herbalist for the dosages and whilst using the herbs, or was it just trough research and recommendations? Would it be okay to start treatment without professional supervision? Did your midwife/ob know that you used the herbs? (I could imagine many of them would disagree with it??)

Again, thank you both so much. I think I will definitely try this when we get to green light to start trying again!

I didn't because I felt comfortable with the herbalist training I'd received already. If I had not had that I would absolutely have consulted an herbalist. [f]

There are many herbal formulas out there which claim to help prevent miscarriage and I've tried a lot of them with no success until this one. I've even tried some of the components of this separately with no success (false unicorn root and cramp bark specifically). So in that regard it was a lot of trial and error. My midwife knew and my doctor did as well (but neither knew or cared about herbs).

I think they figured when you have as many losses as I have anything that could help, can't hurt eh?

Good luck [hug]

This is such great info! Can we somehow make it a FAQ?

I ran the Welcome Womb by my acupuncturist who gave it the thumbs up so I plan to try it next cycle! I really wanted her to give the the green light first since I am already taking Chinese herbs. OB said I could try 81mg ASA a day too so I guess this is my new regime!

Christine... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS INFO !!!

I will be reading your links! My concern is if these are safe to take while doing an IVF treatment or are they only to take while TTC naturally. i just had a D&C earlier this week and my doctors are lost. they do not believe in herbs, but I am at wits end. I am going to research these and take them on my next cycle. I will post up how i do. thanks again !

Evergreen, hope it works!!

Crf1014, yes, it is safe to take the whole pregnancy. [f]

Sprtbkbabe, any time you're seeing a specialist you'll want to tell them *everything* you're considering taking. As far as I know it shouldn't interfere with anything since it is taken after ovulation (or in the case of IVF transfer), but it never hurts to run it by them.

Sussi, I hope and pray it works for you too.Right Hug

One question on the "welcome womb". I see the directions are to take it with water. Is that the only option? will it still work with OJ? i tried surfing the net for answers but couldn't find any.

It did for me. I can say that confidently because I had SO many pregnancies/losses without it and my progesterone levels (even with son #3 who stuck) were never more than 5ish on their own. With this formula my HCG levels were sky-high and that stimulates progesterone. My progesterone without any help was 10-something and 12-something.[tu]

I have a question about welcome womb: what size bottle did you purchase? If you are taking three drops twice daily does the two or four oz bottle last through to 12 wks? Or will you need more than the 4 oz?

Thanks [f]
